Polar Bears

Help Save the Polar Bears
My doodle for Google expresses how I want the world to pay attention to how Polar bears are on the verge of extinction and the great priorities we must take in order to stop this, such as stopping the increase in Global Warming.
Name: Alex Jordan
Age: 15
School: TAYLORVIEW JR HIGH
City, State: Idaho Falls, ID

Dear Alex Jordan,
I appreciate your passion for art but I’m less inclined to tolerate your uninformed and misguided beliefs about vicious Polar Bears and the theory of Global Warming. I see that you’re 15 years old, so I guess that you haven’t had a chance to learn that Polar Bears are, in fact, not on the “verge of extinction.” This isn’t your fault, really. If your only information about Polar Bears comes from the public school system and WWF commercials, then I can understand why you’re so concerned.

You will be very happy to know that the number of Polar Bears has been increasing for some time now (25% the past decade in Canada). Also, the amount of ice in the Arctic is within the average standard deviation. I’m sorry, given your public school background, that you probably don’t know what standard deviation is, though I’m quite sure you know all about condoms and that some people have two daddies. What I mean by “standard deviation” is that things are normal at the North Pole.

Also, you’ll be excited to learn that global temperatures have been trending cooler for the past decade. There hasn’t been any alarming shift in worldwide temperatures. I know that two years ago Nobel Prize winner and former Vice President Al Gore said the Arctic would be “ice free” in five years. Please don’t pay any attention to Gore; he was pro-life before he was pro-choice, pro-tobacco before he was anti-tobacco, and president before he wasn’t president. If history is any precedent, he’ll be a climate change skeptic before it’s all said and done.

If you’re looking for a new subject for your art I suggest a Google potato man. It would represent your state a lot better.

Sincerely,
Nemov

Did you happen to notice the overwhelming amount of ‘green’ doodles there were for all age groups? It was off-putting (to be nice).
I actually made an overt effort to vote in each grade category for the least environmentally-themed doodle. For some grade groups, there were almost no options left.
    Children, children. Future, future…sigh…

That’s precisely what led me to write this open letter. Google happens to be a fairly liberal corporation so maybe that has something do with it, but you’re right. The amount of “green” logos is ridiculous.

hello nemov, yes this is the real alex jordan, and i somehow appreciate you’re post about my design but i must inform you that the theme behind this was “what i wish for the world” these are the kinds of things that i do not wish to happen and so mankind should take charge to prevent such things as extinction from happening, not just for the polar bears but for all species.

    Alex,

Thanks for your comment; however, you are quoted by Google as saying “Polar bears are on the verge of extinction.” That claim you made is false.

On the topic of wishes: My wish is that people would quit making false claims based on things they don’t understand.

  5. Alex Jordan says:

Well thank you Henshaw, since we’re on the topic of wishes, I wish people like you would stop being assholes and leave this alone, everyones got their own opinion on everything, I can respect that, but disregarding the fact I was misinformed or Not. I was listening to the media, like All of America does, and I was inspired to make a design about the polar bears and global warming, and if you don’t like it, you can go screw yourself

  6. Alex Jordan says:

Also I’d like to add, my quote says ” such as stopping the increase of global warming”, if global warming increases, then polar bears will end up on the endangered species list, Therefore… Polar bears are on the verge of extinction… (Plus+) you can check out http://www.buzzle.com/articles/are-polar-bears-endangered.html

    Alex,

Thanks for your immature name-calling rant. By my calculation you’re 17 now, so I’ll cut you some slack. Please come back when you learn more about the theory of global warming, arctic sea ice, and the increasing number of polar bears.

  8. Alex Jordan says:

Ok, I’d much rather come back when you learn to play nice with the lil’ kiddies and stop being a dick head:) haha, I am 17 now, so I hope you cut me some slack again for calling a dick head ass wipe that likes to pick on kids:) so hasta luego:)

  9. Alex Jordan says:

    *correction*
Calling you a dick head ass wipe:)

  10. Casie Hodges says:
