Blame Game: Racist Nation

On January 20, 2010, in Politics, by Henshaw

As I’ve stated in the past I’m not a a big viewer of cable news. There are drawbacks to this strategy. I miss out on the media saturation of topics like natural disasters, pop stars, and hot political topics. However, I did watch MSNBC last night because I wanted to see how the holy trinity of Maddow, Matthews, and Olbermann took the loss.

Olbermann was his usually smug and bitter self. Why did Brown win? Well Massachusetts is evidently full of a bunch of racists who don’t like Obama.

Driving a pick-up truck is now racist? I’m starting to wonder about this whole racist thing. I’ve never looked a pick up truck and thought to myself, “Man, that Chevy truck represents white power.” Maybe I’m in the minority. I’ve never been a big fan of pick up trucks, but there’s something very Americana about the pick-up truck. Perhaps, that’s the problem. Many on the left hate the history of the United States so much that any link to the past is racist.

The vinyl record: racist. The nuclear bomb: racist. The Ford Model T: racist. The list is endless. I don’t mean to downplay racism, but Obama is still popular. His approval ratings aren’t great, but most Americans generally like the President; however, most Americans don’t like his policies. During the 2008 election no one paid attention to Obama’s policies. He was the Democrat nominee, that’s all it was going to take to win. Americans are suffering from buyer’s remorse.
The Obama Show was a hit from the start, but the show is starting to lose viewers. The meat behind the grand speeches means more government, higher taxes, and less freedom. The average voter is appalled by the backroom deals. Obama promised transparency. The average voter is appalled by partisanship. Obama blames Bush for everything. There’s nothing racist about disagreeing with the President.
