epic fail: pat robertson

On January 13, 2010, in Miscellaneous, by Henshaw

Pat Robertson does his best Jeremiah Wright impersonation.

It’s a good thing we don’t take people like this seriously. Wouldn’t it be awful if the President had a twenty year relationship with someone who says stuff like the video above? Oh wait…

What if I told you that Rev Wright was a founder and current chancellor of a university that teaches his ideologies. Then, what if I told you more than 150 of its graduates had been hired by the federal government during Obama’s presidency. Wouldn’t it be awful if that happened? Oh wait….http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regent_University
He isn’t really taken seriously huh? I bet you one Virginia gov you are wrong!

ironic how long they have been friends huh :)
Bottom line is this, Pat Robertson is a much more predominant and influential figure in our society than Rev Wright will ever be. This is why I don’t worry about Rev Wright. We have had people like Pat influencing Washington and society for years.

So going to a school founded by Pat Robertson 30 years ago is as bad as having a personal relationship with a crazy person for 20 years?
Is driving a Volkswagen bad because it was created during Nazi era Germany (not quite a fair comparison, but you know what I mean)? They’re not teaching the Haiti Curse at Regent.
I agree Robertson has been more influential as a whole and what he said is idiotic, but to dismiss Wright like the left did in 2008 defeats any argument you’d like to make.

This is the crux of my argument. I am not asking anyone to give a pass on Rev and Obama’s relationship. It should be criticized and it made me more skeptical of his character. I am simply responding to your post that suggested people don’t take Robertson seriously.
The question that remains is what evidence do you have that Robertson is not taken seriously. Again, I am agreeing with you that people should criticize Obama’s relationship with Wright. But you got to substantiate why you believe this guy is not taken seriously. Otherwise, you are just as bad as those who dismissed Rev Wright as being a concern.
