Moron of the Week: Ruben Navarrette Jr.

On May 27, 2010, in Immigration, by Henshaw

There have been a lot of ignorant opinions offered about the Arizona immigration law. It’s difficult to stand out when the list of ill-informed morons is almost endless; however, CNN published an op-ed by Ruben Navarrette Jr. that will live in infamy.  Navarrette likens Arizona’s plea for illegal immigration control to a rouge rogue state searching for nuclear weapons. No, really.

Don’t be surprised if, any day now, you read that the People’s Republic of Arizona is in the market for nuclear warheads to put an end, once and for all, to illegal immigration on its southern border. After all, it’s the next logical step for the rogue state.

That’s the next logical step? Obviously Navarrette doesn’t have a firm grasp of logic. The only logical next step here is to believe that he’s a blithering idiot. Oh wait… There’s more?!

Brewer just signed SB 1070, a disgraceful anti-immigration and pro-racial-profiling law, to give local and state cops throughout the state the chance to suit up and play border patrol agent. Why shouldn’t she get the chance to suit up and play general?

The Arizona law isn’t about immigration, it’s about “illegal immigration.” How many times do people like Navarette need to be told the difference between illegal and legal immigration. Let me repeat it slowly so Navarett can understand: I-L-L-E-G-A-L. Against the law. Criminal… The fact that Navarette can’t tell the difference and would rather yell “racist” tells me all I need to know. This is the kind of opinion piece that makes you want to gouge your eyes out with popsicle sticks.

Navarette goes on to claim to be “in the know” with border officials and sets up the weak straw man about enforcing the laws that bar companies from hiring illegals. Evidently it’s not racist or anti-immigration to enforce those laws.  What about the illegal immigrants that join gangs and never get jobs? How exactly does cracking down on businesses that hire illegals (which should happen) stop that from happening? I’m sorry. I was thinking logically.

I am so sick and tired of the same ole open-border, pro-illegal alien trash being spewed by Ruben Navarrette, and by the comments there are plenty of others who feel the same way.

He used to be a regular writer in our local paper here in San Diego, and he went onto CNN (and I’m not sure if he’s still there, but doubt he lasted very long with them either).

Nonetheless, just about everything that is spewed out of that guy is bent on granting AMNESTY for the hordes of freeloading and criminal illegal aliens from Mexico (and Latin America), and I’m now on a mission to find every blog and site I can to fight him and his ilk.

  2. Gregory Weir says:

If you’re as fed up as I am about illegal immigration, there is a site that will automatically generate letters to our legislators, both state and federal. It’s easy!

    Here’s a great site:
    http://www.capsweb.org/

And to take action, here’s another link:
    http://capwiz.com/caps/home/

I usually get a response from our legislators for all the emails I send using this site.
And, they’ll alert you when new legislation is being drafted so you can take action.

  3. Roallin says:

Yeah. He is the biggest idiot. And try posting anything negative about him. CNN moderates the comments on all of his articles.

  4. Matthew says:

Ruben Navarrette concept of freedom of the press is to take his uninformed (and ill-formed) opinions and present them to the public with the knowledge that CNN is going to give him a pass every time. If he were more informed, he would know that SB 1070 is far and away immensely popular, and, for that matter, so is Joe Arpaio. The only ones in Arizona who have a problem with Sheriff Joe are those breaking state and federal laws.

  5. Julio Van Dyke says:

Viva La Mexico! We are going to take California back in 2012! Ole!

  6. Patrick Hultquist says:

If you’re going to attack someone for being a moron, maybe you ought to do a spellcheck first. Especially when the moron in question spelled it correctly in the first place.
Let me spell it slowly for you so you get it; R-O-G-U-E. Rouge is a makeup used to make cheeks appear redder. If you were trying to make a point regarding Arizona as a red state, it was a weak attempt that belabors the obvious.
And since you appear to be blinded to the inhrent racism of a police officer asking an American citizen for their papers on the suspicion that they’re here illegally, all I can say is that you, sir, are the blithering idiot.

  7. Henshaw says:

So your augments is that I have a typo, I’m a racist, and I’m blithering idiot. Police officers ask for paperwork for everyone who is pulled over. Is that racist? Illegal aliens shouldn’t have a valid drivers license.

If you’re going to attack someone at least come up with an argument. Name calling is what six graders do when they don’t get what they want.
