The facts have come out, but the left’s narrative hasn’t changed. If you were an alien and you just landed on the planet yesterday you might assume the Sarah Palin is pure evil. What is Palin’s crime? I’m not sure, being a popular GOP leader and a woman with the gall not to subscribe to feminist dogma? Palin is is far from being the first politician to use the metaphor “target list.” Is anyone blaming President Obama for gun violence?

Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit has all the gory details. When you hear talking heads discussing the myth of extreme rhetoric over the next few days remember that it’s just a myth. The left wasn’t concerned and doesn’t remember the kill Bush video games. The left isn’t as much concerned with stopping extreme rhetoric as it is in silencing their opposition. Spirited debate is good for the nation and it should be encouraged.
Liberals have short memories.

Ultimately, who cares? Unfortunately, hypocrites like the once respectable Andrew Sullivan are beyond help. The “Tea Party” is rooted in the theme of patriotic armed revolt against an illegitimate tyrant. Violence and the rhetoric of violence is embedded within it. When you do that, someone somewhere will take you seriously.
I’m embarrassed that I used to think Sullivan was a sober minded intellectual. Now he’s just a bitter partisan with nothing to offer. Sadly, some people take Sullivan seriously. The sad truth of all totalitarian regimes is their ability to convince large parts of the population that another group is evil. Is there any doubt that the left views the right as deranged and evil? I don’t view liberals that way, but they’re terribly naive.
