The Daily Plunge’s disdain for conspiracy theories is well-documented. One of my favorite conspiracy theories involves the Bilderberg Group. The Bilderberg Group meets annually, and it usually consistes of 140 or so influential people from all over the world. The meetings are secret and thus they have to be evil. The newest member of the Bilderbergs is none other than Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Every indication suggests that Bilderberg-approved Texas Governor Rick Perry is set to become the frontrunner in the Republican race to challenge Barack Obama for the presidency, illustrating once again how a shady, secretive and undemocratic global elite holds the reigns of true power while Americans are distracted by the delusional notion that they have a genuine choice in 2012.
Of course! How could I be so blind? Obviously the chronically conspiratorial Alex Jones’ Infowars has to get ahead of the impending Perry candidacy. You don’t have to have a PhD in political science to realize that Perry would be a formidable candidate; however, Paul Joseph Watson believes every eventual president has to go through the Bilderberg application process to get elected. Why Perry? Why now? It’s because of the strong Ron Paul candidacy (no, really!).
In a comparatively weak GOP field, the establishment cannot take any chances in allowing Ron Paul to gain momentum as the only candidate who has a real chance of defeating Barack Obama.
As polls have shown, out of the Republican candidates, only Ron Paul has a realistic hope of success in a hypothetical run off against Obama – the other candidates are equally unpopular as the President.
Watson is referencing a CNN poll from May. The poll is completely irrelevant. Paul’s campaign is going nowhere. Watson also tries to brand Perry as Bush 2.0 even though there’s not a lot to tie the two together besides Texas. Other “sins” that Watson pins on Perry are privatizing highways (a good idea) and supporting NAFTA (another good idea).
There’s something psychological about people who believe that the world is controlled by a secretive group. It’s nothing new. These types of beliefs are as old as time itself. It’s just a simple way for people to deal with a complicated world.
If the Bilderburg group is so inconsequential to our presidential elections, why did Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama meet with them just prior to the 2008 election? I think it is unwise at this point to ignore the global elitist influence in American politics. And I think we need to vet the next Republican candidate better to make more informed decisions. If Rick Perry has met with and has connections to the Bilderburg group, which apparently he has and does, should the American public just dismiss that as a coincidence? Hmmm, I don’t think so.
I hope you will take another look and keep your eyes wide open!
Cheryl,
The list of people and groups potential presidential candidates meet is almost endless. The groups are of all sizes and influence. Why do candidates meet with groups and get their pictures taken with babies? It’s part of the process.
My eyes are wide open. I don’t believe in dumb conspiracy theories.
Henshaw,
“My eyes are wide open. I don’t believe in dumb conspiracy theories.”
Many scandals started just as “conspiracy theories”.
Watergate for example – just a conspiracy theory, right? Or, I guess they are all conspiracy theories until they get caught. Kind of like it’s not lying, cheating or stealing if you don’t get caught? Seems to me that your eyes are only open to what you have been fed by mainstream as well. You might want to try closing them once in awhile and really listen to what is being planted in your thought process. Don’t be another closed minded dimwit, we have enough in the media already.
Henshaw,
Heather covered my thoughts very well. Writing anything off as a conspiracy [two or people plotting to do evil] theory [something that has yet to be proven TRUE or false yet] is Orwellian new-speak. All establishment shills like you have to utter is “conspiracy theory” and the docile little minds disregard it without any investigation in fear of being labeled. Only with independent research can one change “conspiracy theory” to “conspiracy fact” or “conspiracy fairy tail”. Just give the facts that you can find and leave your logical falsies to yourself.
BTW if you don’t believe in dumb conspiracy theories, do you then believe in smart ones? Do you believe in the conspiracy to murder Lincoln? Before he was shot, was it all just a dumb conspiracy theory? If it doesn’t come from an approved mouthpiece like you first it must be, right? Ignoring evil is evil, you hireling!
Dan,
The argument isn’t that conspiracies don’t exist. The argument is that large conspiracy theories don’t exist because of the cast of the thousands. History has proven that it is impossible for people to keep quiet. Conspiracy theories that involved tons of people can be easily dismissed.
Lincoln’s assassination didn’t involve very many people. The same can be said about Garfield’s assassination and JFK’s assassination.
The burden of proof is on the conspiracy believer and there isn’t any proof that 9/11 was an inside job, that Obama was born in Kenya, or that some group is mysteriously running the world.
Wow, that was scary. Thought I was getting censored.

I thought that was rude… anyway, I am not trying to argue with you if the theory that World Trade Tower 7 was a controlled demolition, or that the FBI destroyed the crime scene of JFKs murder right after they got his car for the sake of respect, or the fact that every “birth certificate” Obama had given us was torn apart as a fake, or all the networks of secretive groups, clubs and organizations guide us through our ‘destiny’ according to his way. What I am TRYING to ask is for every single one of us to investigate these matters themselves.
Sorry about the blog issues. That’s what I get for $20 a month.
It is not my fault that few will tell the people about the facts of the case or the “whistle-blowers” testimony. You know, the few of the “cast of the thousands” that have the courage to come clean and walk away from sin. If cancer is the only way God could get this man to repent; it worked.
“Robert Merritt and the Scandal That Dare Not Speak Its Name” is not a topic that the average news outlet will provide for you. He is shouting his voice on the roof tops, yet few hear him. Most don’t want to know his story and are too busy watching TV. I must warn you, it is a very disturbing story and is not for children or the faint of heart. I’m not joking or exaggerating, he will tell you this himself. You can catch him on all sorts of un-sold-out-radio stations, but not for long, he has throat cancer. If that wasn’t bad enough he also has spinal cancer. He has given his life to Christ but his body is still paying for his life of sin. Do your own search on his story online about his involvement in the Watergate scandal.
People do your own research from here on, I’ve given you enough searchable words. The burden of proving is on you. Don’t let anyone tell you how the world is, go out and see for yourself.
The real question I have is how a group that meets regularly with high level officials, business men, bankers and any person deemed important enough can stay under the radar like they do? It is a documented fact that they meet. The list of who attends is known. However what is discussed is kept very secret. If an American Legislature is meeting with a group and discussing policy that info should be available to their constituents. If they have nothing to hide why do they not allow any journalists in? If I had the level of people that meet there over to my house once a year I’m sure people would want to know what’s going on.
I’m not saying that this is the evil group that controls the world. I am saying that when important people meet to discuss policy that meeting can have far reaching implications. No sitting US Senator, Congressman or Official should be meeting with foreign groups to discuss policy without full access to the media. If it is a matter of National Security which is the only viable excuse to withhold information of this kind that is even worse based on the guest lists of attendees that are easily found. Why is this group such a non-story? Why has no one looked deeper into this? Even Fox News won’t touch it.
It is a proven fact that Rick Perry has met with the Bilderberg Group. Why hasn’t anyone asked him what they met about? If he met with a Union Group they would ask and he would be expected to give an answer. Good greif the History Channel does countless stories on the Knights Templar and it’s connection to the Mason’s. That’s as big of a conspiracy as this. Why is this group able to avoid scrutiny from all major news agencies?
Mr. Henshaw,
For the sake of “let’s get to the bottom of the allegation” instead of rubber-stamping pervasive dismissal among the Lion’s share of talking heads and misinformed journalists, try a little more than surface research. Your readership will be that much more informed and ..we all might learn something not officially allowed in our “free and open” society.
Please consider the words carefully chosen by the late President John F. Kennedy On April 27th, 1961 and I quote:
“The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society, and we are as a people, inherently and historically, opposed to secret societies, secret oaths, and secret proceedings … For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence. It depends on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice.
It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published, its mistakes are buried, not headlined, its dissenters are silenced, not praised, no expenditure is questioned, no secret is revealed … I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people.”
Within three weeks of his assassination, President Kennedy stated at Columbia University: “The high office of President has been used to foment a plot to destroy the American’s freedom, and before I leave office I must inform the citizen of his plight.”
Tell me, Mr. President, just what can we do for our country?
Thanks for your time.
Paul
