Such is the plight of the race obsessed that in the absence of any George Wallace rhetoric Democrats are inventing new racist rhetoric. Four years ago I wrote about how Dallas city Commissioner John Wiley Price claimed that the term “black hole” was racist. What? Racism is real, it exists, and the nation (and the world) has an embarrassing history in regards to race. It’s one thing to be sensitive and it’s another to be obsessed.

I’m all for exposing racial bigotry. It shouldn’t be tolerated in politics today. That’s why I don’t have time for Jesse Jackson. When Jackson goes around telling people they’re “not black enough” there’s a problem. In October, 2011, Juan Williams was fired from NPR for making “insensitive” comments about Muslims. Shouldn’t Mr. Williams be cognizant about the stupidity of “veiled racism?” Apparently not…

The language of GOP racial politics is heavy on euphemisms that allow the speaker to deny any responsibility for the racial content of his message. The code words in this game are “entitlement society” — as used by Mitt Romney — and “poor work ethic” and “food stamp president” — as used by Newt Gingrich. References to a lack of respect for the “Founding Fathers” and the “Constitution” also make certain ears perk up by demonizing anyone supposedly threatening core “old-fashioned American values.”

The code also extends to attacks on legal immigrants, always carefully lumped in with illegal immigrants, as people seeking “amnesty” and taking jobs from Americans.

But the code sometimes breaks down.

I didn’t know that blacks didn’t respect the Founding Fathers. Or that the “entitlement society” was racist. Most people on food stamps are white as are most people who make up the “entitlement society.” Also, the Republicans in this race have gone through painstaking detail about immigration. It would be very difficult to characterize Romney’s or Gingrich’s position as anti-immigration. Mr. Williams finishes his rant with this head scratcher:

The problem is not a lack of work ethic on the part of the poor, who are disproportionately minorities. The problem is there are few good jobs for blue-collar people with the best work ethic.

The problem is a lot more complicated than the lack of good jobs. There will never be “good jobs” for unskilled and uneducated people. I wish people like Juan Williams would get over all this racist crap and start talking about real problems. There’s an increasing number of unskilled and uneducated people. The common denominator with most of these people isn’t race, it’s family, or more accurately, the lack of it. Out of wedlock births are the underlying cancer of our society. For every feel-good story you see on CNN about a single mother who raised her kids there are 15 stories of tradegy.

Racism didn’t create this problem. Racism isn’t perpetuating the problem.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past week you’ve likely seen the coverage of the new Nike Air Jordan shopping lines and the ensuing chaos across the country. Color me unimpressed. There’s nothing to gather from the violence other than depression as the Republic devolves into a me-first selfish mixture of reprobates and depravity. Nothing like this would have happened 100 years ago. Who is to blame for the violence? Certainly not the people clashing over a $180 pair of shoes. Nope. According to ESPN’s Jemele Hill Michael Jordan and Nike need to do something. Asking people to behave with civility is just too much to ask.

Jordan and Nike didn’t directly encourage this recklessness. They didn’t tell people to trample others who waited in line, and it’s not their fault that a segment of people have such skewed priorities.

But that doesn’t absolve Jordan or Nike for willingly feeding an out-of-control monster. Let’s put aside the fact that these Air Jordans cost an absurd $180. The marketing campaign for these shoes is essentially akin to yelling “fire” in a crowded movie theater.

Essentially? The marketing was so pervasive I didn’t even see one commercial on TV. If the shoes are absurd at $180 what can be said of Apple’s iPads? There is an almost non-stop stream of advertising and shortages every time Apple release a new model. There are long lines, long wait times, but no embarrassing mischief. Why is it that Nike is irresponsible, but Apple is one of the most respected companies in the country? Oh wait, it’s gets better…

It’s hard not to notice that a lot of the senseless violence associated with Air Jordans involves African-Americans, specifically young black men. Jordan is one of the most universally beloved athletes of all time, and he has profited considerably from the black community’s unconditional support. By not addressing this lingering violence, he seems to be making clear that he’s only interested in the black community if it can enhance his financial empire.

Hmm… Michael Jordan is one of the best basketball players of all time. He had no equal during his prime. I’m not sure what the “black community” has to do with Jordan’s popularity. Jordan received unconditional support from everyone. What’s he supposed to do? Give the shoes away for free? That would only make things worse.

This isn’t just an African-American problem. There are examples of moral depravity all over the place. Talking heads like Jemele Hill only see things through the prism of race. How about writing an article asking our citizens to grow up? There should be a zero tolerance policy for this kind of behavior. It’s not going to stop if we keep justifying idiots.

The NFL has had countless famous college football players who weren’t good enough for the league. I’m not saying Tebow isn’t good enough, but if he’s not, that hardly makes him unique.

The only unique thing about Tebow is that he’s a Christian. He’s not just a Christian, but an outspoken Christian. A Christian who could have been aborted at birth if not for the faith of his mother. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understanding why a God hating liberal wouldn’t like Tim Tebow.

Our secular culture seems to understand everything except Christianity these days. It’s odd in a nation with complete religious freedom that a growing number of people have zero tolerance for Christianity. Christians are taught to speak boldly in the name of Christ, but few have the courage to do so anymore. No one wants to offend anyone. How far the modern Christian has fallen; 2,000 years ago you could face death of you preached the Gospel, now all you do is alienate your friends and co-workers. ESPN has a perfect example of religious ignorance in another one of its moronic Grantland articles:

It so happens that 95 percent of the population of the Philippines is Roman Catholic. Catholic doctrine just happens to be in conflict with what Bob Tebow and his son preach in regard to personal salvation. (To devout Catholics, for example, sins are not forgiven “by faith alone,” but through the sacrament of reconciliation as administered by a priest.) Bob Tebow’s goal is not to convert unbelievers. It is to supplant an existing form of Christianity. So who’s the actual Christian here? This is not an idle point to be made. Down through history, millions of people have died in conflicts over what a “Christian” really is, which is what so exercised Madison, and also what brought down a lot of Hitchens’ wrath upon religion in general. History says that as soon as you start talking about “the only true message” in this regard, you guarantee that, eventually, people will get slaughtered in the town square.

Charles P. Pierce writes for Esquire and contributes to NPR. He also wrote a book called Idiot American. Apparently he’s an expert. We’ll start with the fact that 80 percent of the Philippines is Catholic. Writing about religion in a sports magazines apparently means no fact checking. Oh no, “the one true message.” This is what made Jesus Christ an extremist from the beginning.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 4:16

This is one of the fundamental differences between Catholics and Protestants. Jesus Christ talked about “the one true message.” The Catholic church is kind of like the McDonalds of Christianity, or better yet, a middle man. Jesus clearly said that he’s the “way, the truth, and the life.”

Charles P. Pierce seems to believe that in a world of doubt there would be no war. Apparently religion is the sole reason for conflict. As if greed and a lust for power or any number of mankind’s unfashionable traits have no bearing on the history of the world. Pierce’s problem isn’t with Tebow, but with God. Here’s the money quote:

Before he ever took a snap in the NFL, he appeared in an anti-choice television ad with his mother that was sponsored by Focus on the Family, an influential anti-choice, anti-gay-rights organization founded by the Rev. James Dobson

How sad. Pierce doesn’t have to contribute money to Dobson, but my tax dollars help pay for this bigot’s appearances on NPR. If you read the Gospels Jesus is anti-choice, anti-fornication, anti-adultery, and anti-gay-rights. To put it bluntly Jesus is anti-sin. That’s where we reach the boiling point. No one is preaching to Pierce except his own conscious and that’s what convicts us all.

Why do I do this to myself? Throughout the course of the year I don’t read Time Magazine. Once upon a time people used to read Time to be informed. Now it’s just another example of a dying publication that has a long history, but isn’t relevant anymore. Heck, the Person of the Year is the only thing Time has going for it and it’s basically out of nostalgia.

Today Time released its news stories of the year. Unsurprisingly the geniuses picked Occupy Wall Street. I don’t even have the energy to discuss how stupid that choice is, but coming in 9th place is “freaky weather.” Oh no, that can only mean…

As the world grapples with the unpredictable effects of climate change, the erratic weather that battered the U.S. in 2011 could be the new normal. Twisters, freak storms, and wildfires ravaged much of the country.

What in the world does the “unpredictable effects of climate change” even mean? There have always been tornadoes, blizzards, wildfires and floods. The only difference is now we have 24/7 news coverage. There hasn’t been a catagory 3 or stronger hurricane make landfall in the United States in 2,242 days. That’s the longest period in over a century. Oh my Mohammad, what are we going to do!!?? The only thing constant over time is change. I guess a magazine named Time has no idea that change is constant, unpredictable, and it’s nothing new.

With the nation facing economic uncertainty and a pile of other problems, Sen. Tom Udall of New Mexico has introduced a constitutional amendment to regulate campaign contributions. Every liberal should be forced to read James Madison’s Federalist 10 until they get it. Well, maybe should they should start with the Constitution first.

The amendment would effectively reverse two landmark Supreme Court decisions — the 1976 ruling in Buckley v. Valeo, which said spending money in elections is a form of speech, and the 2010 ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which ruled it unconstitutional to regulate the money spent to influence elections by corporations and unions.

Let’s just chuckle at the fact the Democrat controlled Senate has time to think about this and can’t even bring Obama’s <del>reelection campaign</del> jobs bill up for debate. I touched on this yesterday, but does anyone on the left think through this stuff? Obama received more money from banks and Wall Street in 2008, but apparently his constituents are occupying Wall Street?

It seems the left isn’t concerned with evil corporations when they’re funding Democrats. Or maybe they’re just too willfully ignorant to notice the hypocrisy.

One of the most annoying phrases after the Islamic fundamentalist attacks of 9/11 is that “everything changed.” Yes, there were some changes after 9/11, but for the average American it can only be experienced by walking through an airport. The nation is still as divided, distracted, politically correct, celebrity obsessed, and apathetic as it was September 10, 2001.

One could argue that everything has gotten worse. Thanks to technology advancements we’re more divided, distracted, political correct, celebrity obsessed, and apathetic than ever before. At Marietta College in Ohio the school is threatening to cancel the 9/11 memorial if flags from other countries are not displayed.

When she went into complain to the student life office, Snow said she was told: “We have a global outlook at this school and we cannot ignore the Chinese and Muslim students who also suffered losses” and “We need to look at all aspects of the event so there isn’t a negative reaction from the International Students.”

Snow said she never received any complaints from foreign students who felt left out.

This is the United States ten years after 9/11. The nation of the offended. Marietta College believes it’s offensive to celebrate the patriotism that erupted after 9/11.

Ten years ago I was a college student working part-time at Home Depot. After the attacks there was a rush of people looking for American flags. The store was sold out almost immediately. It took a couple of weeks before we had enough flags for demand. I remember a car that used to drive around the parking lot covered in flags. The car was a flag seller and these small time operations were popping up all over country to meet the demand. I never would have thought that ten years later an act of patriotism would be offensive at a small college in Ohio.

Ten years later the average American can tell you more about the Green Bay Packers, Jersey Shore, iPads, or the Kardashians than can explain our current path to bankruptcy. No, the nation did not become more serious after the attack. Nothing changed.

I don’t have a soft spot for teachers. This probably stems from the fact I was home-schooled so I haven’t been brainwashed to believe that teachers are like the Knights of the Roundtable. There’s this naive idea that teachers are only in it for a noble cause. If they are so noble why do they constantly complain about their salaries?

Teachers aren’t millionaires, but they make more than the average American household. Plus, they don’t work year-round. The typical teacher makes more money than me, works a hell of lot less, and get better benefits. Where do I sign up? Here’s a video of Matt Damon at the Save Our Schools Rally in Washington. His mother is a teacher. That explains everything.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ7icVvDK9I

Why is Matt Damon willfully ignorant? His mom’s a willfully ignorant teacher. Listening to some of these people talk is awe inspiring. A billion dollars per student? When will we finally learn, after pouring more and more money down the drain, that money is not the problem? Why are we allowing people who think like socialists to educate our society? Why are we surprised that the average American is clueless when it comes to economics? There’s a reason the teacher’s union is opposed to school choice. They have a monopoly on education.

The left has been consumed in recent days with the phone hacking scandal in England that ended The News of the World. The only reason this is even a story in the United States is because Rupert Murdoch owned News of the World. Liberals didn’t bat an eye when CBS ran with a story that came from manufactured evidence during Rathergate. What about the ABC’s hit piece of Food Lion or NBC ‘s faked crash-test footage? Really, the list goes on and on, not to mention the continuous stream of shenanigans in the public sector.

The tabloid press in Britain and in Europe generally is terrible. My experience following European press has come from following soccer transfer speculation every Summer. It’s gotten to the point that I just ignore it. The number of fake stories is maddening. The fact that Murdoch owns News of the World is meaningless. Charlie Cooke has a good take on the mindset of liberals who are fascinated by this story. Here’s a video from the publicity stunt outside of Murdoch’s home in New York:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh_GjBkPOQM

Other than wishful thinking, this story has nothing to do with the American press or FOX News. Also, just a few months ago some liberals were praising Julian Assange and WikiLeaks. Whatever happended to hacking to “speak truth to power.” Apparently illegal activity is okay under the right circumstances and directed at the proper targets. Liberals are also comfortable with illegal leaks as long as they’re damaging to republicans and if they’re published by the New York Times.

Leave it to the left to become obsessed over a non-story.

One of the unsettled issues from the Bush years is the seething hatred on the left. Attacks on Bush went unanswered for nine long years without defense. There’s nothing wrong with debate. There was a long list of things I wasn’t happy with during the Bush administration, but the bile that came from the left is largely forgotten in the attempt to label anyone who disagrees with Obama as either racist, misogynist, homophobe, fascist, or some combination of them all.

After Bush the left has had two long years beating up on Sarah Palin. I’m exhausted from the hate-mongering. Now the left has turned its eyes toward Michele Bachmann. Just do a quick Twitter search for “Bachmann + bitch” to get an idea of how deranged people are about her.

The internet is a great tool for information, but it’s also a source for misinformation. Let’s face it, if your sole source for news is MSNBC, Slate, The Nation and Twitter hate feeds there’s a good chance you’re terribly misinformed. Heck, even ABC News is feeding the frenzy. Now what I’m about to say isn’t politically correct. Christians view homosexuality as a sin. It’s Biblical, it’s clear, and it’s not debatable. However, there’s a whole list of things that are sins that aren’t illegal in the United States. You can fornicate to your heart’s content and there’s not a law against it; however, it is a sin.

Does that mean that anyone who confesses to be a Christian (one that believes the Bible is the Word of God) is unfit for public office? Well, according to many on the left the answer is yes. All these liberals who are up in arms about religious organizations who can be linked (the influence of the association is of no consequence) to Bachmann didn’t bat an eye about Obama’s ties to the New Left and radical pastors. I can guarantee if people on the right talked about the President the way these leftists are talking about Bachmann it would be on page 1 of the New York Times.

What it all boils right down to is Christianity. Many of the left absolutely have no tolerance for evangelical Christians. The seething hate is undeniable. Christians are portrayed as brain-dead morons in all facets of American culture. Christians spend more time and money on charity than any class of people in the United States.
