There are plenty of things to be thankful for this year. One of my favorites is the climategate scandal. I’ve been writing about this topic for years. The theory of climate change is a religion to some people. How else can one justify the behavior of these scientists? Make no mistake; this scandal damages the theory. Michael Mann isn’t some fringe scientist (not be confused with the brilliant movie director who can make even 18th Century America seem like Miami in 1984). This particular Michael Mann invented the infamous hockey stick graph that turned out to be garbage. However, the initial findings were huge news, but once it was proven to be a fraud the press ignored it. The New York Times, which is partly wrapped up in this mess, wants to ignore it. How about a congressional investigation? The American taxpayer is giving money to these clowns. The press may want to ignore this but the truth is out. There is no alarming warming. There’s no alarming climate change.

Have you ever wondered if John Lennon’s death was an elaborate conspiracy? The answer to this question should be a resounding no. Unfortunately, our celebrity culture breeds this kind of insanity. A friend of mine here in Sarasota saw a van driving around that had in big letters lennonmurdertruth.com. This website is a classic example of the type of bizarre celebrity conspiracy fantasy that exists on the web. Here’s just a taste of the craziness:

The story about Mark Chapman is a cover-up. Bold print government cryptographic codes that include the killer’s face and true identity, the killer’s alleged name and letter to the editor printed before the murder and Richard Nixon’s book, The Real War, in back issues of Time, Newsweek, and US News and World Report magazines printed before, during, and after the night of December 8, 1980 prove that Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan arranged for the author Stephen King, then barley famous, to assassinate John Lennon. That King’s writings draw, dramatically, from the crime and that he taunts us all in his interviews and comments only makes this the story of a lifetime. My 24-page booklet contains everything you’ve seen here and much more. Please order your copy. I guarantee it is the absolute truth about what really happened to John Lennon. Happy Code Cracking!

Evidently, Nixon and Reagan decided to kill John Lennon because of his songs and lifestyle. They hired Stephen King to do it. Not content to pull off the weirdest assassination of all time, they also published codes about the murder all over popular newspapers and magazines. The only person who has noticed the codes is a guy named Steve Lightfoot. The poor guy doesn’t understand why no one else cares.

I worry about all of you people for having to have me tell you why this is important and vital to begin with. When I started I assumed everyone would know that this expose will unleash more power to the people than at any time in our lifetimes. If you are not excited by that fact you, indeed, need my prayers too. Thank you for visiting my website. Only you can expose this story. It will never be told until you people change, first, deep inside. Don’t keep me waiting. I need your help and support. BREAK THIS STORY, PLEASE!

Yes, please break this story. I’m trying to imagine watching Anderson Cooper explain this crazy conspiracy. I’ve read it a couple of times already and I don’t think I can explain it. Why isn’t Jimmy Carter in on this elaborate plan? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by wacko theories about Lennon’s death. There are conspiracy theories about JFK, RFK, the Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11, and even John McCain’s time as a POW. There’s no evidence to prove any of these theories, but the lack of evidence only makes people believe more that it happened.

Perhaps the most famous phrases from the Kennedy assassination are “magic bullet” and “back, and to the left”. The problem with addressing why these are not only famous, but ultimately misleading about the truth of the Kennedy assassination – which is that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, shooting Kennedy twice from the Texas School Book Depository Building behind the Presidential motorcade – is that it involves a good deal of forensic and ballistic evidence that adds up, without question, to the lone-assassin conclusion.

As mentioned in the earlier post about the assassination, Vincent Bugliosi, in his 1,500-plus-page, meticulously documented book, Reclaiming History, does a splendid job of documenting each and every angle of each piece of evidence, dismantling the conspiracy theories and their wild claims one by one.

Therefore, I would suggest reading the book if you’re so inclined to find out why, exactly, the evidence is overwhelming and incontrovertible that Oswald acted alone. However, I will address a few common-sense points among many beyond the physical evidence that, on their face, should lead any reasonable person to the conclusion that there was no conspiracy…

1. A Cast of Thousands: The first, and what should be the most obvious point, is that any conspiracy involves a chain of co-conspirators, which, in the case of the Kennedy assassination, would number in the dozens, if not the hundreds, who would be complicit in the conspiracy. A conspiracy theory in this case requires a substantial suspension of disbelief to connect a slew of conspiratorial dots from the very moment of the assassination to JFK’s burial and beyond. This would include the vast majority of witnesses, the Dallas police, the Secret Service, the doctors at Parkland Hospital who first treated the mortally wounded President, anyone who ferried the president’s body to Air Force One and offloaded the body at Bethesda Naval Hospital, all the people involved in the autopsy, and so on and so forth, all the way to the Warren Commission and the House Select Committee on Assassinations (1976-1979). This does not include the assassins themselves and the people who planned the assassination mission. As Bugliosi wrote in Reclaiming History, a reunion of all the conspirators would require a venue as large as Madison Square Garden.

2. Silence is Golden, but Leaks are Inevitable: This is related to the above point in that multiple conspirators, particularly the number of magnitude required by the Kennedy assassination, are sure to make mistakes. Among the most egregious of mistakes in a conspiracy is to talk about it, thus revealing the secrecy of your conspiracy. It is very difficult to believe, as most conspiracy theorists believe, that organizations such as the CIA or the Warren Commission, among others, would have been able to completely staunch leaks from the top down throughout the organization. The Kennedy assassination would represent the first time a governmental agency was able to keep an airtight lid on something in the history of the Republic, and perhaps the world. Funny how incompetent the CIA and American intelligence in general was portrayed regarding WMDs, but was somehow hyper-competent before, during, and after the assassination. You can’t have it both ways.

3. Jogs down Memory Lane: It’s weird how people’s memories change over the years, particularly when there might be fame and fortune just around the corner for someone who suddenly remembers they saw an assassin at the grassy knoll. What’s also odd about this is that a large part of this particular conspiracy is the Mysterious Death phenomenon. Ooooh. Yes. Everyone who knows something about the conspiracy dies mysteriously, years later, in the usual ways that people typically die, except, of course, all those people with renewed memories coming forward to implicate the CIA, the FBI, the military-industrial complex, anti-Castro Cubans, the Mafia, and so on and so forth. Why can’t these people die? They’re like Rasputin, except not as famous. Marina Oswald, for instance, testified right after the assassination that she believed her husband, Lee Harvey Oswald, was the lone assassin. After all, he attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker shortly before the Kennedy assassination, owned the rifle in question, and had violent tendencies. Then, magically, many years later, her tune changes, her memory is miraculously refreshed, and Lee is suddenly rehabilitated! Sorry. It doesn’t work that way.

4. Crazy Is as Crazy Does: Was Lee Harvey Oswald a CIA agent or in the employ of the CIA? Maybe he was a hit man for the anti-Castro Cubans, or a fall guy for the military-industrial complex. Fact is, the guy was a crazy Communist, and fits the lone-gunman profile perfectly. Any rendering of Oswald’s biography and his psychological makeup leads to the conclusion that, a) he did not get along with other people, and b) his narcissistic personality led him to believe he was destined for some type of revolutionary greatness. During his imprisonment in the Dallas jail he raised a clenched fist, well known as the salute of the Leftist revolutionary. Jack Ruby was also, as they say, not right in the head. He was well known for his emotional, and often times violent outbursts. Those close to him after the assassination say Ruby couldn’t speak of it without breaking down into incoherent sobbing. He was absolutely and noticeably distressed and heartbroken by the turn of events. He was horrified that Jackie Kennedy would have to come to Dallas to testify during Oswald’s trial. No wonder that, having just wired money to one of his strippers via Western Union just down the street from where Oswald’s transfer was taking place, he wandered over, and in a fit of rage, shot Oswald in the stomach. On a side note, Ruby’s act was the antithesis of a Mob hit, which was always done without witnesses. Moreover, the murderer always aimed for the head and neck, and never the stomach. Ruby was the last person the Mob would have employed to silence Oswald.
