Such is the plight of the race obsessed that in the absence of any George Wallace rhetoric Democrats are inventing new racist rhetoric. Four years ago I wrote about how Dallas city Commissioner John Wiley Price claimed that the term “black hole” was racist. What? Racism is real, it exists, and the nation (and the world) has an embarrassing history in regards to race. It’s one thing to be sensitive and it’s another to be obsessed.

I’m all for exposing racial bigotry. It shouldn’t be tolerated in politics today. That’s why I don’t have time for Jesse Jackson. When Jackson goes around telling people they’re “not black enough” there’s a problem. In October, 2011, Juan Williams was fired from NPR for making “insensitive” comments about Muslims. Shouldn’t Mr. Williams be cognizant about the stupidity of “veiled racism?” Apparently not…

The language of GOP racial politics is heavy on euphemisms that allow the speaker to deny any responsibility for the racial content of his message. The code words in this game are “entitlement society” — as used by Mitt Romney — and “poor work ethic” and “food stamp president” — as used by Newt Gingrich. References to a lack of respect for the “Founding Fathers” and the “Constitution” also make certain ears perk up by demonizing anyone supposedly threatening core “old-fashioned American values.”

The code also extends to attacks on legal immigrants, always carefully lumped in with illegal immigrants, as people seeking “amnesty” and taking jobs from Americans.

But the code sometimes breaks down.

I didn’t know that blacks didn’t respect the Founding Fathers. Or that the “entitlement society” was racist. Most people on food stamps are white as are most people who make up the “entitlement society.” Also, the Republicans in this race have gone through painstaking detail about immigration. It would be very difficult to characterize Romney’s or Gingrich’s position as anti-immigration. Mr. Williams finishes his rant with this head scratcher:

The problem is not a lack of work ethic on the part of the poor, who are disproportionately minorities. The problem is there are few good jobs for blue-collar people with the best work ethic.

The problem is a lot more complicated than the lack of good jobs. There will never be “good jobs” for unskilled and uneducated people. I wish people like Juan Williams would get over all this racist crap and start talking about real problems. There’s an increasing number of unskilled and uneducated people. The common denominator with most of these people isn’t race, it’s family, or more accurately, the lack of it. Out of wedlock births are the underlying cancer of our society. For every feel-good story you see on CNN about a single mother who raised her kids there are 15 stories of tradegy.

Racism didn’t create this problem. Racism isn’t perpetuating the problem.

That's right. Whenever there are financial difficulties the Jews are behind it, just like they were in the 1930s. Just ask David Duke, who recently endorsed Occupy Wall Street.

The Occupy Wall Street movement is essentially a re-boot of the Tea Party, but the Occupiers don’t know it. Were the Occupiers savvier and more educated about economics, politics, history and the Constitution they would echo the cry of the Tea Party, which is to limit the federal government.

The Occupiers have become tools, or useful idiots, of the rich and powerful left, which manipulates markets and benefits from the cozy relationship between Washington, D.C. and Wall Street.

Barack Obama’s top donors list from the 2008 presidential campaign is a Who’s Who of Wall Street financial giants (Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase & Co., Citigroup), over-priced educational institutions gouging families with their tuition (Harvard, UC Berkeley) and big corporations (Google, Microsoft).

The left’s biggest money man, George Soros, owns Soros Fund Management LLC (hmmmm… I wonder if it’s related to Wall Street at all?) and is a notorious currency and stock market manipulator. In other words, Soros has repeatedly gamed the system to enrich himself, which is exactly what irks (or I guess is supposed to irk) the Occupiers.

Soros also funds and agitates for left-wing causes, understanding that as the people’s individual power recedes, he and others of his ilk will become more powerful. It’s exactly what happened in the Soviet Union: The Russian people were relegated to a drab life of bare subsistence, while their betters in the bureaucracy enjoyed the spoils of the proletariat’s toil.

This is what happens when people become dependent on the state. America’s unrivaled success was built on individual self-reliance, not a reliance on the state to provide for our every need. If America had been built on the latter, we’d all be speaking German right now.

But the Occupiers seem to have the whole thing backwards, at least as far as one can tell what the hell they’re protesting… The whole thing is such an odd mish-mash of anarchists, communists, neo-Nazis, confused students, baby-talking thirtysomethings, professional protesters ginned up and paid by unions and community organizers, anti-Semites, baby Baby Boomers who missed out on Woodstock, and a smattering of well-meaning liberals.

When the Occupiers went to march on the mansions of the powerful, they studiously avoided left-wing barons who are knee-deep in Wall Street funny business and went to protest at the mansions of right-wingers (Rupert Murdoch, Fox News Corp., and David Koch, Koch Industries) who have little to do with Wall Street.

As one of my favorite pundits put it recently: “Even assuming, for purposes of argument, that Koch and Murdoch are as evil as these morons seems to think, the protesters call their demonstration ‘Occupy Wall Street,’ not ‘Occupy Businesses Whose Products We Disapprove Of.’ This would be like protesting the Holocaust by walking past Adolf Hitler’s house and protesting at O.J. Simpson’s house.”

Wall Street is an excellent target for protest. The financial giants contribute to campaigns, wheeling and dealing their way to immunity when all hell breaks loose, as it did in 2008. A government with the power to pick winners and losers during a crisis is far too powerful, and this is where we need reform.

I’m not talking about campaign finance reform, which restricts free speech and is merely a symptom of far worse disease, but reigning in government per the Constitution so that it does not have the power to reward cronies as it did with TARP and all the other stimulus, bail-out, green jobs BS perpetrated on the American taxpayer. How many more Solyndras will it take before we figure out that we’re being taken for a ride?

I was too tired last night to write a recap of last night’s FOX News/Google debate in Orlando, Fla., but it was a big debate. Rick Perry was terrible last night. He didn’t just fade; he didn’t show up. Perry stumbled through almost every question. Instead of getting better, he seems unprepared to answer the simplest of questions.

Perry’s big splash in the race has crippled Michele Bachmann’s candidacy. Mitt Romney is the one really benefiting from Perry’s entrance in the race. Suddenly Romney appears presidential and safe. As Rick Santorum, Ron Paul and Bachmann beat up on Perry, Romney just watches with glee. The GOP establishment is falling over themselves trying to say it’s over for Perry, but that’s just hyperbole. However, Perry really need to step up his game in these debates.

Perry’s two biggest problems are the vaccination business and immigration. Bachmann has got all she can out of the HPV vaccination. The best part? Bachmann is sinking fast. Perry has a real problem with immigration. Illegal immigration is a complex topic. There’s no concensus on how to solve it; however, Perry might get buried on it because Santorum Bachmann, and Huntsman are unrelenting in their attack on Perry. I’ve written about Perry’s luck in politics in Texas, but he’s gonna need a healthy dose of it to survive these attacks. On the flip side, Perry’s stance on immigration is likely to be a plus in the general election, if he ever makes it that far.

This race is Mitt Romney’s to lose at this point. The establishment is on his side. He’s the best politician in the field. You have to be a great politician to change your positions as often as he has in the past ten years. One last thing that Mitt Romney has going… he’s left-handed. Since President Ford, the United States has elected two right-handed presidents (Carter, Bush 2). President Reagan was ambidextrous, so maybe we should be looking for that trait in a candidate.

Finally, Newt Gingrich has been the best in all three debates in September. Gingrich’s problem is that he’s too unpredictable to support. It’s a shame, because he’d crush Obama in a debate.

One of the most frustrating parts of the political process is dealing with uninformed people. This really isn’t a left/right issue. The list of things Americans are uninformed about is almost endless. Look at what people say about the Separation of Church and State, 9/11, the JFK assassination, or the issue that started the Civil War. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard someone say that “slavery didn’t start the American Civil War.” This is probably because I live in the South and that talking point has always existed, but it doesn’t change the fact that the argument is delusional. If the war wasn’t about slavery, what was it about?

The Information Age is great for those who are willing to use it, but it’s terrible for people who are lazy. The increasing trend in New Media is to tailor coverage towards the audience. FOX News has perfected it. FOX isn’t in the business of shaping the news. They’re in the business of covering the news that most Americans want to see. The FOX philosophy is simple: if people want to watch it they cover it. It’s all about increasing ratings and advertising dollars. MSNBC has become the liberal news network. While “leaning forward” the talking heads are actually cocooning themselves inside a tunnel of delusion.

What about newspapers? For a long while papers like the New York Times prided themselves for being “above the fray.” It was all nonsense, but the perception existed. It’s over now. The New York Times is just another source for the progressive cocoon. Krugman and Friedman write haughty, faux intelligent articles that aren’t exactly friendly with the facts. Just today William Buffett wrote an article about taxing the super rich. The world is aflutter! Who cares? Taxing the rich won’t put a dent in our debt problem. If people were better informed, they’d realize this and dismiss Buffett’s liberal talking points.

Mickey Kaus who considers himself a “neoliberal” wrote about the MSNBC effect on the New York Times today for the The Daily Caller.

In June the paper deployed its powerful “Draws Attention To” template, the formula for which is

X event in the news (go find one if necessary)

“draws attention to”

Y argument the Times wants to push

Example: SAGGING ECONOMY DRAWS ATTENTION TO WAR SPENDING

Kaus goes on to explain how weak the article is and the fact that no attention is being drawn to war spending. It’s the figment of the New York Times journalist’s Helene Cooper’s imagination. The fact that her article is nonsense won’t make any difference. The NYT’s audience will eat it up. MSNBC will likely talk about it tonight. Liberal viewers will have their uninformed ideas reinforced. Is it any wonder why progressives were so bewildered by the 2010 election? When you get all your news in a vacuum this is what happens.

The left has been consumed in recent days with the phone hacking scandal in England that ended The News of the World. The only reason this is even a story in the United States is because Rupert Murdoch owned News of the World. Liberals didn’t bat an eye when CBS ran with a story that came from manufactured evidence during Rathergate. What about the ABC’s hit piece of Food Lion or NBC ‘s faked crash-test footage? Really, the list goes on and on, not to mention the continuous stream of shenanigans in the public sector.

The tabloid press in Britain and in Europe generally is terrible. My experience following European press has come from following soccer transfer speculation every Summer. It’s gotten to the point that I just ignore it. The number of fake stories is maddening. The fact that Murdoch owns News of the World is meaningless. Charlie Cooke has a good take on the mindset of liberals who are fascinated by this story. Here’s a video from the publicity stunt outside of Murdoch’s home in New York:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh_GjBkPOQM

Other than wishful thinking, this story has nothing to do with the American press or FOX News. Also, just a few months ago some liberals were praising Julian Assange and WikiLeaks. Whatever happended to hacking to “speak truth to power.” Apparently illegal activity is okay under the right circumstances and directed at the proper targets. Liberals are also comfortable with illegal leaks as long as they’re damaging to republicans and if they’re published by the New York Times.

Leave it to the left to become obsessed over a non-story.

Conveniently enough the New York Times and CBS is running a story that discusses a rift between the two camps. Well, isn’t that special? Hmm… maybe there’s something to all that Bilderberg stuff.

We Don’t Need No Stinking Empirical Facts: The brilliant Thomas Sowell has a great article up at Townhall entitled “Politics Versus Reality.” Sowell discusses the ever increasing problem or uninformed political discourse. How do you debate an opponent that wishes to remain willfully ignorant?

The same preference for talking points, and the same lack of interest in digging into the facts about realities, prevails today in discussions of whether to have a government-controlled medical system.

Since there are various countries, such as Canada and Britain, that have the kind of government-controlled medical systems that some Americans advocate, you might think that there would be great interest in the quality of medical care in these countries.

The data are readily available as to how many weeks or months people have to wait to see a primary care physician in such countries, and how many additional weeks or months they have to wait after they are referred to a surgeon or other specialist. There are data on how often their governments allow patients to receive the latest pharmaceutical drugs, as compared to how often Americans use such advanced medications.

But supporters of government medical care show virtually no interest in such realities. Their big talking point is that the life expectancy in the United States is not as long as in those other countries. End of discussion, as far as they are concerned.

When it comes to health care liberals are brain-dead. Their arguments are tired cliches. It’s almost impossible to break through the misinformation. Heath care as an entitlement is a religion and the libertarian position is the infidel.

Casey Anthony: I haven’t kept up with this story and I can’t even muster up a reason why anyone should care. Apparently a jury of her peers acquitted her. That’s all I need to know. Now FOX News can get back to covering something that’s actually important.

Government Intervention: The shocking conclusion from CNN is that the housing market won’t recover until it hits bottom. Of course it won’t reach bottom as long as the Federal Government keeps intervening in the market.

Representative Michele Bachmann is officially in the race. Republicans are a lot more excited about Bachmann than the odd Jon Huntsman campaign. However, I’m not sold on her experience. Politically speaking she has a lot to offer, but Bachmann suffers from the same problem as Obama. Lack of executive experience (or really any real world experience whatsoever) didn’t harm Obama, but I’m not sure the country is willing to elect another unproven leader.

The press and the left is all over Bachmann. FOX News’ Chris Wallace asked Bachmann in an interview over the weekend if she was a “flake.” What kind of question is that? FOX is supposedly the “right leaning” news network. Just imagine what liberals think of Bachman. Oh, wait…

Wow, don’t you just love the tolerant left? The amount of over-the-top vitriol toward Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann is insane and the press is feeding it. It shouldn’t be forgotten that Hillary Clinton had problems with the press during the 2008 primary. The misogynists on the left were guarded during that campaign but they have officially become unhinged.

Heck, even Kathryn Scaglione likes Jon Huntsman. Anyway, here’s a good example of what liberals are thinking about Rick Perry:

Mr. Bitterness is upset that Perry called Twitter “Tweeter.” Liberals like to imagine that all Republicans are stupid so they can take the intellectual high ground. That’s why every Republican president in my lifetime has been called stupid. I’m not sure why “progressives” continue with this shallow attack. Liberal comedian Jon Stewart did this Sunday on FOX News when he claimed that FOX viewers are “the most consistently misinformed media viewers.” Actually, it’s Stewart who is misinformed.

Note to liberals… come up with something original that doesn’t involve calling your opponent stupid, racist, or a bigot.

When I was posting the deranged tweets for my entry about the GOP field I had no idea that I would uncover the the Holy Grail of crazy. Kathryn Scaglione, where have you been all my life? Nestled in between blog posts about the Real Housewives of New Jersey (no, really!) is an open letter to Sarah Palin. The Daily Plunge has written ad nauseum about Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome so I won’t get into that again, but there is plenty to take exception to with Scaglione’s tweets and blog posts. So Kathryn, here’s my open letter to your political derangement. It’s a love letter to crazy. A monument to tribal wisdom and shallow intellectualism.

A great place to start is the last 24 hours. Let’s just look at some of the tweets she’s written.

Wow, she’s about a purple horseshoe marshmallow short of being a box of Lucky Charms. You can cut the white guilt with a knife. This is what happens when you watch too much of MSNBC and The Daily Show. I can hear her now. “This guy gets his news from FOX News!! That facist, racist, asshole!” I mean this his how people like this think. Just read what she wrote about the birther nonsense.

Donald Trump is now a birther. Meaning, he’s a racist. Again, if you’re a birther, YOU ARE A RACIST. There is NO reason to demand a President to show his birth certificate, other than the color of his skin. Does anyone else remember past Presidents being ORDERED to show their birth certificates?

How many past presidents had fathers who weren’t American citizens? Is it really strange that our society of conspiracy theorists wouldn’t have a field day with Obama’s history? The Daily Plunge always thought the birther movement was dumb. However, what about truthers, the JFK assassination, and Bigfoot? Do all conspiracy theories that involve black people automatically equal racism, or those that involve Big Foot, Yeti and the Loch Ness Monster equal Mythical Creature Phobia? When the press was creating “fake but accurate” stories about President Bush’s National Guard service was that racist? In another post from last November Scaglione opines…

Even as crazy and psychotic as the Tea Party is, in a political climate, the ones who DO scream the loudest seem to be heard the most and win the ‘argument.’ The Democrats and liberals don’t know how to scream at all. The Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert Rally to restore sanity WAS in essence, true … but it felt like I was in 3rd grade and the teacher was giving the whole class a lecture, even though everyone knew who the culprits were

Let’s not forget the crowd at that fake rally, or celebration of Stuff White People Like. It was a rally for morons that was held by liberal comedians. This wasn’t a political event. It was a snarky event that had no impact on the election. Liberals aren’t loud enough? Really? Eight years of Bush Derangement Syndrome, war protests, and speaking truth to power wasn’t enough? I’m supposed to take this person seriously as an intellectual, fact-based follower of politics? Really? Reality is not your friend. Scaglione goes on to cite Bill Maher. Yes, that Bill Maher. Is it any wonder Scaglione is politically deranged when she gets her “facts” from people like Maher?

With the epidemic of fake lesbian bloggers I almost wonder if Scaglione’s blog is a parody of the left. When someone becomes this deranged about politics what are facts? There’s no such thing has objective, fact-based analysis, just childish rants. It’s just worn out talking points such as “Sarah Palin said ObamaCare would create Death Panels, it’s a lie and she’s a bitch.” Ah, I see. Although, a very logical argument can be made that rationed health care will lead to some pesky end-of-life decisions made by the state. The state will choose “panels” to make those decisions. Rationed care isn’t wild speculation. Every nation who has implemented socialized medicine eventually rations care. Don’t tell Kathryn Scaglione, she won’t listen anyway.

The most interesting thing about people like Kathryn Scaglione is that they drape themselves in faux tolerance and enlightenment. What you really see is a person full of hate. She can’t comment on anything without vile language. She lashes out aggressively toward anyone who doesn’t agree with her worldview. Who does this woman really hate? Conservatives? God? It’s nearly impossible to agree on everything with people. Some of my best friends have completely different points of view. I don’t pretend to believe that liberals have sole possession of the crazies like Scaglione, but when only 38% of Democrats claim to have excellent mental health there’s a problem.

What else can explain the hypocrisy of the anti-war movement? What are the facts? Well, the United States is unleashing predator drones all over the place, the War Powers Act is being ignored, and we’re bombing Libya for no other reason than to protect Europe’s oil interests. Where are the angry war protesters? C’mon Kathryn Scaglione, where’s your fact based rage? Apparently you’re either too obsessed with Sarah Palin or you’re too busy watching MSNBC, The Daily Show, or the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Update: First off, I corrected Scaglione’s name. I had the Twitter handle as the last name. Dumb mistake. In the spirit of open dialog you will find Scaglione’s response to my post is below. I didn’t make any of this up. This is what she really actually wrote. Scaglione can have the last word.

FYI: I watch ALL the Housewives, and if you’re ‘too good’ to understand the unbelievable entertainment in those shows, then you can’t be helped. Reading your piece makes me so honored. Although it’s Ann Coulterish. Everything you’re accusing me of, YOU are doing the exact same thing to me. Hmmm. The fact that you think I don’t get to have a political opinion because I watch the Housewives is a little shallow & petty, which is what the GOP does when they don’t have anything of substance to add. The second thing is that you assume I am full of hate. Because I blog & tweet about the GOP & their lies? You don’t see racism because most racists don’t. You don’t see bigotry because most bigots don’t.

I am a perfectionist so the urge to take this apart, sentence by sentence is huge. However, this blog does the one thing I hate the most. States opinions as facts. You keep stating your opinion of me as a fact.

Wait. Stop. I just noticed the subtitle on your blog … Plunging Towards Gomorrah … If that is exactly what you mean, I’m done here, that’s a homophobic thing to have as a title to a blog. And again, a homophobe could never actually recognize a homophobic statement.

So son, I advise ONE thing to do, I dare you to show anything I have ever said, in any of my blogs, to be a lie. I dare you. And I mean something that is stated as a fact, not my opinion. My opinions are based on FACTS, I don’t pass them off as facts, like you’ve done here. If there is one thing I take pride in, is that I am extremely factual. Opinionated, but based on facts. Find ONE thing that is not a FACT. Just one.
