If ever there was any doubt left that Hollywood is a bastion of liberal moonbat morons, there’s none left. What else can explain the move Fair Game (no, not the William Baldwin/Cindy Crawford vehicle that ranks as one of the best films ever made, right behind Citizen Kane) starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn? The movie is based on Nadagate, better known as the Plame Affair. I would explain the details of Nadagate, but there’s nothing, or nada, if you prefer, to tell. No one was ever convicted of leaking Valerie Plame’s identity as a CIA agent. Bob Woodward and Christopher Hitchens, who are not conservatives, concluded that it was and is a non-story. As one particularly clever pundit wrote about the supposed “outing” of Plame as an “undercover” CIA agent:
“Among the reasons we know Rove wasn’t exposing Valerie Plame as a covert agent is the fact that Plame wasn’t a covert agent. Or rather, she was the type of covert, deep-cover, top-secret spy who poses for two-page color photo spreads in Vanity Fair magazine under her real name – you know, that kind of covert… ‘Jane Bond’ was, in actuality, ‘Jane Paper Pusher Whose Husband Is a Stay-at-Home Dad Currently, Uh, Between Jobs. The closest Plame has been to ‘undercover’ in recent years was at last year’s CIA Christmas party, when she was someone’s secret Santa.”
Liberals latched on to this issue and never let go. The witch-hunt led to Lewis “Scooter” Libby going to jail for misleading prosecutors about a crime that never took place. Valerie Plame attempted a civil suit against Cheney, Rove and Libby that never went anywhere because there’s nowhere to go. However, the Wilson’s story has made it all the way to Hollywood. Evidently, it’s easier to find some liberal morons to make a movie about something that didn’t happen than to prove nada in court.
So who’s the target audience for this farce? I can’t in good conscience watch this steaming pile of lies. Where is the film about China donating money to Democrats in the ’90s while at the same time stealing weapons technology? That’s something that actually took place. How about a film about Miguel Estrada? Here’s a guy who was denied a vote in the Senate based on the color of his skin. There’s a whole list of real things Hollywood could make a film about; instead, we get Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame depicted as martyrs. As far as Fair Game is concerned you can count me out. I’d rather watch the Cindy Crawford version.
There are few certainties in politics, but Democratic congressman Alan Grayson will not be returning to Congress after the next election. Grayson is one of the Democrats that swept into office on the back of Obama and the anti-Republican sentiment in 2008. Grayson seems to have accepted his fate, becoming one of the most despicable demagogues on the Hill.
The combative Bronx-born congressman and Harvard-educated lawyer took to the floor of the House of Representatives last week, shocking the few Republicans within earshot when he dramatically declared the GOP health care plan is: “Don’t get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.”
For some reason many members of The Daily Kos left believe that liberals aren’t “tough enough.” I’m not sure why they believe this since members of the New Left thought bombing was a good idea. I guess William Ayers has softened over the years. If only he would embrace his terrorist past so liberals would feel like they’re tough. his whole idea screams of the ends justifying the means. It’s also based on the idea that the opposition (anyone to the right of Joseph Lieberman) are evil zombies bent on turning the U.S. into a puritan religious state free of homosexuals, minorities, divorcees and atheists.

Does anyone really believe liberals are too nice?
The outrage from the left about health care is based on emotion. “Everyone should have access to affordable health care!” is their battle cry. How do you argue against that? In a perfect world I would agree with the sentiment. This isn’t a perfect world. Lifesaving treatment takes research, research takes money, money comes from investors, and investors want profit. Once profit is removed, the money dries up and innovation stops. Almost every technological innovation over the past 200 years has come from the private sector. The government is too big, too inefficient, and too shortsighted to run or produce anything effectively. It’s simple economics that has been empirically proven time and again throughout history.
After Joe Wilson’s unfortunate “You Lie” moment he was forced to apologize. Conversely, there seems to be no movement in the House to force Grayson to tone down his rhetoric. Grayson is enjoying his newfound celebrity as a liberal hero, but it’s not likely he’ll win re-election in a Republican-leaning district that was once home to Bill McCollum. Grayson will live on with guest spots on MSNBC and Bill Maher, but he’ll never win anyone over. He’ll be tough, though, I guess that counts for something.
I’m back! I’ve spent the past two weeks in North Carolina for my wife’s brain surgery. Everything went well, but it’s still a very trying and emotional process. She had the surgery on the 9th and every day has been a challenge. I’m so thankful she’s doing well and hopeful this will put an end to this thing once and for all. We’ll learn more in six weeks.
I can’t say enough about Duke University Hospital. Everyone was nice. I was happy to be back in NC for a few days, but we were both ready to get back to Florida. Two weeks away from home and friends is about all we could take.
Meanwhile, The Daily Plunge has been lacking any daily activity. So much has happened the past two weeks… Obama gave a speech that will only be remembered for Joe Wilson. Alas, it’s a different Joe Wilson. Whatever happened to “speaking truth to power?”
In less than a year the left has turned a complete 180. Protests used to be grassroots uprisings against the government. Now they’re characterized as angry racist mobs more concerned about the color of the president’s skin than the content of his proposals.
What else have I learned? Cable news really is horrendous. Fox and MSNBC are almost unwatchable. I’m not sure how anyone can complain about Fox. MSNBC has thrown objectivity completely out the window. MSNBC’s coverage of the ACORN incident is hilarious.
Speaking of ACORN, who would have believed it was criminal institution? Who saw that coming? I jest of course. It’s amazing that the press had to be dragged kicking and screaming to cover the story. I gripe a lot about the mainstream press, but the great thing about the Information Age is that real journalism still exists.
