For three years the press and the left have spent considerable time telling anyone who would listen that the Tea Party movement was a racist fringe group full of extremists. When Jared Loughner opened fire in Tucson the left blamed the Tea Party. When the truth finally came out it turned out that Loughner was simply insane with no coherent political philosophy, either left or right. The Tea Party had nothing to do with it.

Now we have a group of anarchists camped out all over the country. They’re not huge in number. They’re not winning the hearts of minds of the average American, but they have the sympathy of the left and the White House. It’s not surprising. Obama is friends with people who used to be in the Weather Underground and have an appetite for a New Left revival. The President went to a church for 25 years with pastor who blamed the United States for 9/11. The mainstream press that combed each Tea Party for nut jobs has remained silent at the violence and depravity of the Occupiers all over the country.

Isn’t it news that a protester pushed a police officer in front of a moving bus? The whole world is watching? Really? Where is the outrage at the sexual crimes at Occupy Wall Street? The politicians that are allowing this lawless anarchy to continue are cowards. This isn’t a peaceful group. If they are going to behave like animals it shouldn’t be allowed to continue. It would be in Democrats’ best interest to kill off this movement now. If this drags into next year it’s going to be an albatross around the party’s neck; 99 percent of Americans are sick and tired of OWS.

With the nation facing economic uncertainty and a pile of other problems, Sen. Tom Udall of New Mexico has introduced a constitutional amendment to regulate campaign contributions. Every liberal should be forced to read James Madison’s Federalist 10 until they get it. Well, maybe should they should start with the Constitution first.

The amendment would effectively reverse two landmark Supreme Court decisions — the 1976 ruling in Buckley v. Valeo, which said spending money in elections is a form of speech, and the 2010 ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which ruled it unconstitutional to regulate the money spent to influence elections by corporations and unions.

Let’s just chuckle at the fact the Democrat controlled Senate has time to think about this and can’t even bring Obama’s <del>reelection campaign</del> jobs bill up for debate. I touched on this yesterday, but does anyone on the left think through this stuff? Obama received more money from banks and Wall Street in 2008, but apparently his constituents are occupying Wall Street?

It seems the left isn’t concerned with evil corporations when they’re funding Democrats. Or maybe they’re just too willfully ignorant to notice the hypocrisy.

I have never understood Christianphobia in the United States. Why is there this fear that Christians are trying to create a theocracy? I grew up in the South. I’ve lived in Georgia, North Carolina and in Florida. I have two uncles who are pastors of Assembly of God churches in the Northwest. Never in my short 32-year existence have I heard someone say that Christians should take over government. Not only is this manufactured fear myopic and dumb, it’s not Biblical.

The only reason why some liberal progressives feel this way is because of ignorance. As secularism has increased in the United States so has ignorance about Christianity. In fact, many who claim to be Christian know very little about what they believe or the scriptures behind their faith. In popular culture Christians are depicted as hypocritical, judgmental prudes who don’t practice what they preach. From a Christian perspective this isn’t surprising. This is what happens to every wealthy society. A society that has everything it needs is never satisfied.

We hear all the time about the evils of religion, but it was Christian leaders that stood up against slavery and segregation. It was Christian leaders that led the suffrage movement. It was Christians and churches that helped with the poor and the disadvantaged before the progressive movement pawned it off on the state. Since the New Deal Americans have cared less and less about their fellow man and let someone else do it. Creating a bureaucracy to take care of your neighbor because you don’t want to do it isn’t noble. At some point the nation will find itself both morally and financially bankrupt. It will not be because of Christ.

Actually that’s all we ever hear about anyone to the right of Joseph Lieberman. Justice Robert Bork was too extreme. Ronald Reagan was too extreme. Even Justice Roberts was labeled an extremist. It’s tiring and it’s just lazy, but no one calls the press and the left out for it.

When Barack Obama ran for president in 2008 the media overlooked his relationship with a former member of the Weather Underground and dismissed his twenty-year relationship to a psychotic pastor. The title of Obama’s book The Audacity of Hope was inspired by a sermon by Jeremiah Wright. Nevertheless, the press issued a pass and the world moved on. It was an amazing thing to behold. Barack Obama was one of the most unqualified people ever to be elected. There was literally nothing known about the man and yet the press failed to do its job because they were so enamored by his candidacy.

In 2008, the Obama campaign ran under the flag of hope and change. His administration was supposed to find common ground and bring the nation together. Three years later the nation is more divided than it has been in a generation. There is always someone else to blame for the nation’s problems. Obama blames the economy on his predecessor. He blames gridlock and partisanship on the GOP even though Democrats have enjoyed huge majorities for two years.

When Obama enjoyed large majorities he didn’t concentrate on the economy. The President decided that it was time to push a massive new entitlement through Congress. The hubris by Obama and the left has been amazing and virtually unprecedented, excepting Oedipus Rex. The nation is upset because the government is out of touch. When Medicare and Social Security were made into law they were popular from the onset. ObamaCare is still massively unpopular. Instead of dealing with this reality all I hear from the left is “death panels.” They still have no concept about rationed care. Two years of constant debate and the left still hasn’t learned anything.

After the tragedy in Arizona in January the left was quick to blame Sarah Palin for the attack even though no one knew the attacker’s motivation. When it turned out the guy was a sociopath that had no political leanings there was no apology and the myth lives on..

If the left is so passionate about extremism it’s time for them to call off the dogs. At an Obama <del>campaign rally</del> Labor Day event AFL-CIO leader Jimmy Hoffa said the following:

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa added.

Not to be outdone Vice President Joseph Biden called Republicans “barbarians.” It’s really unbelievable stuff. Just a few weeks ago Biden was overheard calling Congressional Republicans terrorists. Will the White House apologize for this stuff? If there’s enough outrage I’m sure the White House will give a speech about it. That’s what this administration does well: talk. In January, Obama called for “civility” in public discourse and for people to talk “in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”

Even if Obama is reelected the legacy of this administration is sealed. What could this President ever offer the American people at this point? He’s an ineffectual leader who only makes pretty speeches. The gig is up. No one cares anymore.

You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Matthew 7:16

We’ve had three years of words that do not match actions. His administrations has fanned division instead of healing, Instead of solving problems he blames everyone else. The true test of the man came after his major accomplishment. When the United States killed Osama Bin Laden the President was quick to point out how he helped make it happen. Beware of a person who is quick to say “me” when things go well and quick to say “you” when things aren’t going well. That’s the legacy of President Obama.

If you treat people like animals, there’s a good chance they’ll reciprocate in kind. The latest example of de-evolutionary regression can be found in the UK rioting. It is a microcosm of a bigger problem wrought by years of leftist policy nonsense.

The entire leftist ideology is predicated on an assumption that people cannot be trusted with liberty and freedom. While it is not stated quite so starkly by leftist ideologues, if you dig beneath the façade you’re left with the left’s contempt for the individual.

This contempt is papered over with euphemisms like “choice, social justice and fair share,” all meaning that our betters know better than us how to conduct our lives. In other words, the Average Joe is too stupid to make good choices, choices that lead to the success that comes from individual application and achievement.

Once the incentives for enterprise and virtue are stripped away from the individual, vis-a-vis the nanny state, the number of productive people necessarily shrinks. There are fewer people producing the means by which the unproductive live.

Moreover, less production means less output and less jobs. In turn, the unproductive riot and protest the fact that the productive aren’t providing them with the lifestyle to which they’ve become accustomed. Coupled to this is the left’s insistence on moral relativism, which promotes vice over virtue as a virtue in itself, leaving behind a vast wasteland of children left behind by parents who selfishly foist a mixed, dysfunctional family structure on their offspring.

John Adams prophetically warned: “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”

The left, in fact, celebrates the wholesale destruction of the family. For some reason, this is seen as “progressive,” since it deconstructs what’s perceived as the patriarchal nature of the family. Instead of finding a balance between the family of the Middle Ages and the modern family, the left prefers to bring down the entire edifice. They celebrate the “single mom,” the paragon of virtue, when in fact the single mom as a general statistical rule leaves poverty, crime and despair in her wake.

What’s left is an unruly, undisciplined, immoral class of people who wonder why the gap grows between the haves and the have-nots. This gap is not a function of American-style capitalism; it is a function of leftist economics and relativism. Where else in the world have immigrants risen from abject poverty to wealth? It’s simply not possible in any other system devised by man. Yet the left insists that we move away from this objectively successful model and toward one that has proven time and again to fail and fail miserably, at least for the average citizen.

The government-oriented model does not fail for those who run it; they make out like bandits at the expense of the citizen. A cursory glance at the abuses perpetrated by our “public servants” should tell you everything you need to know. It’s no wonder they insist on creating more dependents; it expands their wealth and power.

They see economic upheaval and rioting as an opportunity, an opportunity to inject more government, thereby increasing their power base. After all, animals are a lot easier to control than free-thinking, independent human beings.

The rhetoric from the so-called Progressive left has become progressively poisonous. It is difficult to fathom that one would write or say, let alone think, the disgusting, profane things said and written by leftists about conservatives, particularly conservative women and minorities.

Palin and Bachman are evil bitches and C words, held up as effigies of a particularly degrading form of politicized propaganda. Black conservatives are Uncle Toms who have somehow betrayed their race, simply because they think their race is better than the condescending white guilt that treats them as if they were idiotic children.

This dehumanizing objectification has become the defining tactic of the left; there is no logical defense available for leftist ideology, thus it sinks to the lowest depths of depravity to make its point, such as it is.

When fascism comes to America it will be driving a Prius with a COEXIST bumper sticker.

Witness the Tweets Henshaw regurgitates here in all their glory, and then the righteous indignation, accompanied by profanity and insults, when the Tweeter finds their Tweet at The Daily Plunge. Also witness the commentary on leftist sites like Daily Kos and The Huffington Post. Offensive comments are not relegated to the left side of the blogosphere, but the sheer volume of mean-spirited, ugly commentary is somewhat shocking.

Then again, maybe this is not so shocking. Years ago as an idealistic college student I was attracted to liberalism based on its professions of tolerance and open mindedness. Enthusiasm soon dissolved into disillusionment.

Oddly enough, one of my epiphanies came during an MTV News report on a pro-choice concert headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was rather jarring to me that a rock band with a fairly large collection of misogynist songs in its repertoire would be “pro woman.” Then it dawned on me that being pro-choice is not pro-woman at all. It’s another way to degrade women and to tell them that they’re too stupid and immoral to make a right choice before conception.

For some reason, the left embraces an ideology that basically says we’re not much better than animals, and thus need to be treated as such. This is one of the founding principles of the Progressive movement, from its early years as it dabbled in eugenics to its modern-day insistence that man is not a special creation, endowed by his creator with certain inalienable rights.

This is an important area of separation between right and left. If rights are endowed by the creator, government has no real right to either grant them or take them away. However, if rights are endowed by your fellow man, they become arbitrary and subject to the whims of those in power. Moreover, if I am endowed by my creator, I have individual worth, regardless of my views. But if I am just another animal, a parasite on Mother Earth, then it’s easier to make me one of “them” and thus expendable.

Ultimately, what I found was that liberalism was neither tolerant nor open-minded. In fact, liberalism, in its post-modern sense, is not liberal at all; it is totalitarian. This becomes increasingly clear as one samples the vast media landscape of leftist voices, from the anonymous comments at The Daily Kos to the rants of Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Keith Olbermann, Janeane Garofalo, et al.

They do not respectfully disagree; they demonize anyone who disagrees with them. They aim to take away the very humanity of their opponents, an ancient and effective means of politics that has sometimes led to genocide.

This is yet another reason I believe in limited government. I do not want to be subject to the whims of people who hold such contempt for others in their heart, a contempt that borders on inhumanity. The great massacres of the 20th Century were perpetrated largely by dehumanizing and degrading those being murdered so that the majority of people would simply look away as the atrocities were committed.

The defining characteristic of genocidal regimes is that all real power is concentrated in the central State; all else is subordinate. While I’m obviously concerned about the totalitarian leanings of the left, someone on the left may be concerned about a theocracy. Fair enough, but all of us, left and right, should advocate for a limited federal government because when all power resides in the federal government, we’re all screwed.

I hardly have the energy to write about the ongoing debt ceiling debate that has been going on for months. What is there that I can add? Democrats want to raise taxes and not cut a single dime of non-defense spending. It’s amazing how invested the Democratic party is in the status quo. They will fight to the death to defend entitlements as they are, not matter how outdated and not relevant to 21st Century America they are. What happened to Hope and Change? Can I at least get Change?

Raising taxes of any kind during a recession is ridiculous. It’s just bad economics. Over the last three years almost every part of the United States has cut back, except the federal government. Businesses have reduced payrolls. City and State governments had to make cuts. Yet, liberals believe the the federal government is immune to cuts. Once a government job is created it’s eternal.

The nation’s debt problem is too big for taxes; however, the American liberal fails to see the problem. They would rather punt it down the road another decade. Happy days are here again! How can a problem as dire as this be solved when so much of population is detached from reality? The War on Poverty has bankrupted the United States.

I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

Ben Franklin wrote that 245 years ago and he is right. Over the last 70 years the left has incrementally passed well-intentioned legislation to help the poor. Poverty hasn’t been eliminated. In fact, the poverty rate was decreasing until the War on Poverty was enacted. For 4o years the poverty rate has remained unchanged. The cost of this grand experiment has pushed our great nation to the brink of financial ruin.

Entitlements haven’t lifted people out of poverty, but have made the poor, students, and the elderly dependent on government services. Now we all face economic uncertainty.

It’s not too surprising that a writer from The Nation would think that everything is okay with Medicare. The socialist magazine is a shining example of how liberals think (or don’t think). John Nichols believes everything is fine with Medicare. The real threat… is Paul Ryan:

Medicare can be reformed the right way. It is not broken. And it is not broke.

The only serious threat to Medicare’s future is Paul Ryan. If the House Budget Committee gets his way, the federal government will rob the elderly in order to pay off Ryan’s campaign contributors. Medicare has a great history. And if Ryan’s plan is rejected, it will have a great future.

Medicare isn’t broke? Paul Ryan is the problem? It’s difficult to see how progress can be made reforming these entitlements when the left’s position is so far from reality. Navigating legislation through Congress is already a difficult progress. If the opposition believes nothing is wrong I don’t see how the problem can be solved unless the GOP has a super majority. Even that might not solve the problem since I don’t trust the Republicans to do the right thing.

Bad hair? Yes. Racist? Not so sure. Future president? No way.

I haven’t really written about Trumpmania. It all seems so pointless. The press loves it because the press loves embarrassing GOP candidates for president. Since there really isn’t a race for the nomination yet Trump gets all the air time. Donald Trump the Republican is kind of like Charlie Crist the Republican except Crist was a more devout GOPer until last year. That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of Trump’s conservative credentials.

Anyway, it’s far too early for me to be ripping Donald Trump. Trump is a publicity hound. He’s always been a shameless promoter of the Trump brand. “Running for president” is a sure fire way to get noticed. I have a feeling, though, that if Trump had pulled this stunt in 2004 and ran against Bush he’d be greeted a lot differently. Take TechCrunch contributer Paul Carr, for example. He just dedicated an entire post to Donald Trump on a technology website. Here’s how Carr opens:

Let me start of by reiterating how much I hate Donald Trump.

Hate is, of course, a strong word. But then again so are “liar”, “crypto-racist” and “criminally-irresponsible publicity whore”. And there can be fewer more hateful blots on the current landscape of American politics than that of Trump – looking for all the world like a pugnacious Oompa-Loompa with a comb-over – dog whistling to the racist “birther” movement in order to promote his crappy reality TV show.

Wow! This might be the first full blown case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Carr’s logic is weak and irrational: Trump is a racist because he’s a birther? What about the people who questioned McCain’s citizenship? Are they racists too? Or, even worse, agists? One of the most annoying aspects of the Obama years is that any criticism of the President, either real or imagined, is simply dismissed as racist by the white guilt suffering left.

Being a “birther” is many things. It’s not smart. There’s no evidence. It’s a lot like all those liberals who are still convinced to this day that Gore won Florida despite numerous recounts. Or what about all those crazy “truthers” who believe Bush had something to do with 9/11? Or what about the liberals who are convinced that Iraq was a war over oil, but are apathetic over the oil conflict in Libya. These people aren’t racists, agists or Texanists… they’re just not very smart. There are plenty of ignorant people on both the left and right.

There’s nothing new about Donald Trump. It’s a big promotional push, but what about Paul Carr? Why is Carr writing on a technology site about hating Trump? Carr should stick to writing about subjects on which he’s an expert and leave the political stuff to people who can form logical, reality based points.

I have written before about the creepy love affair the left has with the murdering racist thug Che Guevara and his enabler Fidel Castro. I can only assume the left’s adoration of Communist Cuba comes from the proverb: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” For those who don’t know, the left is an enemy of the free market; hence, their love affair with thugs, dictators, and tyrants who abhor freedom.

Fidel Castro is in the news today because he apparently “resigned” from office. Well, insomuch that a tyrant resigns. I’m not sure it means anything, but it gives me a chance to highlight some tweets.

Ah, uplifting the people. It’s really a sad state of affairs when an African-American doesn’t even take the time to research scumbags like Che Guevara. What did Guevara think of black people?

“The Negro is indolent and spends his money on frivolities and booze, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent.”

Is this uplifting? It seems to me that Guevara appreciated the ideas of the elite.
