Time Magazine is stupid. There, I said it. This year’s Person of the Year is The Protester. Huh? Last year the Tea Party movement reshaped the political landscape and Mark Zuckerburg was the the Person of the Year. This year a few thousand hipster dufuses take the street to protest repaying their student loans and suddenly The Protester is the Person of the Year. The best part is that Time was too cowardly to give it to Occupy Wall Street even though that’s obviously what they really wanted to do. Time’s website even has a picture and a quote from the world’s stupidest police captain, Ray Lewis.
The protests in the Middle East started last year, but I guess Mark Zuckerberg was more important than the lowly Iranian protesters. Oh well, what should I expect? The U.S. Navy Seals are the story of the year. If you don’t believe just wait until next year when President Obama boasts about killing Osama Bin Laden.

Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is an important part of world events, but he didn't sell iPads.
In a couple of weeks Time magazine will unveil its Person of the Year. Last year, Mark Zuckerberg was named Person of the Year because of a movie. I said at the time that the Tea Party made the most sense given the historical nature of the mid-term elections, but Time is a liberal rag so what do I expect?
If Zuckerberg was the pick last year then it seems like a slam dunk that Steve Jobs would be the pick this year. There’s no clear choice and some of the choices on Time’s website are comical, including Lionel Messi, Anonymous, and the 99%. The most popular choice at the moment is Turkey’s Prime Minister. Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Since most American can’t even tell you who the chief justice of the Supreme Court is I doubt Time chooses Erdogan.
The dark horse candidate is Gabrielle Giffords. The story of her recovery is amazing and it also pushes the liberal meme that right-wing extremism led to the shooting. Don’t worry, the facts of the case are beside the point. Think I’m wrong? Liberals are still blaming JFK’s assassination of right-wing extremists even though Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist. Frank Rich’s recent article in the New Yorker that continues the facade is comical. It would be funnier if it was actually satire.
I would like to see Seal Team 6 get the nod. The operation against Osama Bin Laden is the story of the year. In a culture of apathy, sensationalism, and cynicism it would be nice to see the heroes of that operation get the credit.
The biggest casualty during the Obama administration has been the anti-war left. Most of the anti-war left was a fog. It’s like people who play Dungeons and Dragons. They dress up on the weekends, have a good time, and go back to their normal lives. Most of the anti-war left was made up of partisan Democrats who weren’t really upset with war, but angry that there was a Republican in the White House. The wars have continued under new ownership and the hypocrites have gone back to their lives. Yes, they’re still “angry” about Iraq, but their arguments are easy to dismiss.
Noam Chomsky is a true believer in the anti-war dogma. He doesn’t greet the death of Osama Bin Laden as a significant accomplishment. Chomsky just uses it as another excuse to bash President Bush.
We might ask ourselves how we would be reacting if Iraqi commandos landed at George W. Bush’s compound, assassinated him, and dumped his body in the Atlantic. Uncontroversially, his crimes vastly exceed bin Laden’s, and he is not a “suspect” but uncontroversially the “decider” who gave the orders to commit the “supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole” (quoting the Nuremberg Tribunal) for which Nazi criminals were hanged: the hundreds of thousands of deaths, millions of refugees, destruction of much of the country, the bitter sectarian conflict that has now spread to the rest of the region.
Noam Chomsky is a Institute Professor emeritus in the MIT Department of Linguistics and Philosophy. I guess that means he is the ultimate “decider” of what is considered “uncontroversial.” Meanwhile our current President continues to authorize drone attacks in Pakistan and the policy of holding prisoners indefinitely in Guantanamo Bay. Chomsky cannot be bothered by the present when he’s so obsessed with the past.
President Obama will spend the next few weeks (or months) basking in the glow of his accomplishment. Who can blame him? Who can be surprised? This is the President who couldn’t give a normal convention speech and took his campaign to Germany (that sure didn’t work out). Our President is someone who has no trouble talking about himself.
In the grand scheme of things history will look back at President Obama and judge him based on what he did or didn’t do about the nation’s fiscal problems. Obama’s biggest concern isn’t fixing our financial problems. The sole focus of the the Obama administration is getting elected. The power of the incumbency has never been stronger. At what cost? Obama wanted to be Lincoln. Sadly, he’s more like Pierce, Filmore, and Buchanan.
Nearly five years ago I started the Blogosphere category to focus on crazy people on the internet. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel, or jihadists in a desert, if you prefer. It’s been a revealing journey.
The first Blogosphere entry I wrote featured a blog by Salah Al-Dien that insisted President Bush was worse than Saddam Hussein. Shortly after my post Salah Al-Dien became Terry Scott and a commenter named Liam Occam (who linked to Al-Dien’s blog) called me out for being an “adolescent author who professes that Jesus Christ is the most important thing in the world.” How dare I! What’s this person’s real name? Terry Scott? Liam Occam? Salah Al-Dien? I have no idea, but the person is obviously a coward, anti-Christian, and willing to believe anything as long as there’s some Jew hating involved.
Anyway, long story. Today I was thinking… What does Terry Scott/Al-Dien/Occam think about the death of Osama bin Laden? Apparently, Scott has a lot of issues about killing the scumbag.
No person should have died in 9-1-1, neither American nor foreign born. For disbelievers of the singular role of Al Qaida in 9-1-1 like myself, the blame for those deaths in NY and elsewhere rests on many souls and not just bin Laden and his followers…
And on and on the insanity goes… It wasn’t a terrorist attack. It was an inside job brought to you by a cast of thousands upon thousands of neocons who aren’t talking about pulling off the biggest conspiracy theory all time.
This truther nonsense is everywhere. Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back Rashard Mendenhall is under fire today for tweeting the following:
Mendenhall then went even further and said “We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.” When he was questioned about his ignorant comments he urged others to “think.” My guess is that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be encouraging Mendenhall to do more “thinking” in the future before he opens is mouth, hopefully on a bench.
Twitter is very busy today… Anytime there’s big news story like this the idiots take to Twitter. I’m here to point and laugh and, as always, these tweets are not family friendly. You have been warned.
No event is complete without someone bringing up Sarah Palin. If the first person you think of when an evil person is killed abroad is Sarah Palin you might have a problem.
Idiots aren’t just on the left… Why can’t we just celebrate a great day for the United States?
Like Sarah Palin, liberals are obsessed with FOX news. Get over it.
Extreme Environmentalism (EE) is an art form. Chaining yourself to bulldozer or a tree is an act of defiance and diligence that most Americans fail to appreciate. The EE movement needs a new face that encapsulates the perfect Earth friendly lifestyle. I am always looking out for new mascots for groups, and I have found one again, Osama Bin Laden.
Think about it, EE is about living off the land, not taking more than you need. Bin Laden lives in a cave, need I say more? EE is against the industries of the Earth raping West. Al Qaeda is against the West as well, and have went so far as terrorizing and killing thousands. Now that is the type of defiance members of EE can appreciate. Bin Laden has perfected the nomad gypsy life. He doesn’t need Wal-Mart. He doesn’t need Starbucks. These things are just arms of the great corporate Satan that is the United States. As the leading economy, the United States is mostly to blame for Global Warming. The cavedweller in chief is already on the Climate Change bandwagon. In a 2002 letter to the American people he wrote the following passage.
You have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gases more than any other nation in history. Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement so that you can secure the profit of your greedy companies and industries.
That quote might as well be from Al Gore or John Edwards. However, there’s one stark difference, Gore and Edwards are not willing to act against the greatest threat to mankind since the last greatest threat to mankind (insert paranoid end times hypothesis here). Bin Laden has taken the lead in trying to crippble the industries of America. While Lefties have tried to do it with terrible economic policies, Al Qaeda has a more direct approach. It is for these reasons that Osama Bin Laden should be the new mascot for Extreme Environmentalism. The only way to save life on Earth is to kill all life on earth.
